I’m a Mess. There is Help.

Hassle.com

“There are better ways to spend your lazy Sunday.” So says the above screen grab from the homepage of Hassle.com, with respect to why you should consider using its on-demand cleaning service. Hear! Hear! I say. But what about all those other days that aren’t so wonderfully lazy?

In the initial post of my I’m a Mess series, I mentioned that I was going to look into giving Hassle a go and see how much it could help bring order back to my life. So I did – and I’ve got nothing but good things to share with you about the experience.

I’ll get to the specifics with a review of the actual service and my cleaner in a later write up (it’ll pretty much be a rave, by the way). But in this piece, I want to focus on one of the key benefits of my Hassle experience.

The session I booked was not during a “lazy” day. It was a busy one – really busy by my standards. There were deadlines, obligations, etc etc ETC to be dealt with, a more than usual workload to whittle down, and the need to set aside some time to plan for a new project and upcoming travel dates. Having a polite, friendly and conscientious cleaner come round – who was a tad on the early side, who immediately set to work and kept a steady pace throughout her entire two hour booking, who even did some ironing (upon special request when booked), and who offered practical advice on keeping my home tidy – freed up loads of time, energy and mental space for me so I could carry on with the other stuff I had to do that day while clearing the path to make everything run more smoothly across the next couple of days that followed. Not a lazy day – but Hassle helped me get to my next lazy day quicker than I would have otherwise.

Yes, obviously, it was terrific to have my house cleaned – starting at a very reasonable £12/hour – and to have someone else accomplish that chore for me. But the big win for me was the relief of knowing I could get to the tasks at hand concerning my livelihood and not worry about any mess piling up around.

Stay tuned for more posts about my experience trying out Hassle, and how you might be able to try its on-demand cleaning service for free!
