Good stuff and lots of it! Here’s the low down on some fine things to see, sip, savour and more – all of which I’ve recently come across and thought were worth sharing with you. Enjoy.
Marchel Dzama and Raymond Pettibon: Let us Compare Mythologies
Longtime fan of Raymond Pettibon (since his days designing album covers for the Minutemen and Black Flag) but a newbie to the works of Marchel Dzama, I was blown away by their vibrant, irreverent, raunchy and seemingly off-the-cuff collaboration on show now at David Zwirner London in Mayfair. The exhibition is on until 12 November. Entry is free. David Zwirner Gallery is located at 24 Grafton Street, W1S 4EZ.
I’ve been enjoying some healthy on-the-go treats from Abakus Foods. I especially like Abakus’ new range of Jujube products – all gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan with no additives or added sugar. Packed with phytonutrients, Jujube are high in antioxidants, and also have sedative properties to help calm the mind. They are widely used in Traditional Chinese Medicine to treat anxiety and insomnia. Insomnia? I’m travelling more and more (and farther and farther these days). Indeed, I’m drafting this post very early morning in Samoa (yes, it’s awesome). Something tasty that can help with the jet lag is just the sort of snack I need!
Yes, the world’s most famous Irish cream has a rich new autumn-y drink. I reckon this limited edition indulgence is a bit of Marmite kind of concept: you’ll either love it or hate it. It’s definitely worth a try. If you’re a fan of cinnamon, maple and of course pumpkin, you’ll be sure to find yourself aligned with the latter. I got mine from 31Dover.com, the UK’s leading online drinks vendor. I like it served on the rocks.
West African inspired snacks maker, Chika’s, has launched a new snack box called Snack4Change, designed to help children in West Africa receive an education and is run in conjunction with charity partner SOS Children’s Villages. When you become a Snack4Change subscriber you will receive a Chika’s snack box delivered directly to your home or workplace. You will also then be paired up with a child in need of educational support.

Paul John Bold Single Malt Whisky
My first taste of this award-winning “great Indian single malt” whisky from Goa raised my eyebrows, wowed my palate and soothed my soul. From the range of Paul John range, I had the Bold. A touch of smoke on the nose and a very honey palate and an impressive finish made it a delightful dram to consider.
