Good stuff and lots of it!
Here’s the low down on some fine things to see, sip, savour and more – all of which I’ve recently come across and thought were worth sharing with you. Enjoy.
Cloven Hoof Rum
The label for Cloven Hoof spiced rum claims it was “blended in Hell.” Who knew Hell was full of clove and vanilla? Actually it’s a blend of dark rum from Guyana and lighter rum from Trinidad that’s infused in Sussex with a mix of spices (heavy on the cloves, star anise and cassia bark). Far from qualifying for any “fine” category of top shelf spirits, it is nonetheless delicious. It’s been my go-to drink since my bottle (£24.95/70cl) arrived from 31Dover.com, the UK’s leading online drinks vendor.
Heat ‘n eat Souper soups are high in protein and low in fat. I’ve tasted the range and most liked the Peppered Beef & Superbeans. Look for I Am Souper soups and more at ASDA, Sainsbury’s, Ocado, Whole Foods Market and online price around £1.49.
No, Roots Collective is not your next favourite reggae band. It’s your next camccccfavourite range of whole vegetable blends. Good for quick smoothies on the go or a healthy and convenient base for any variety of soups, sauces, and more. I like the Carrot Zing (carrot juice, carrot, coconut milk, ginger, honey and lime) best – RRP £2.95/230g bottle.
Valrhona Orelys Blond Chocolate
Last month luxury chocolate maker, Valrhona, released its second ever blond chocolate Orelys. If you like liquorice and molasses, you’ll adore this 35% chocolate made with muscovado sugar from Mauritius.
Wellaby’s Simple Bakes
Wholegrain but gluten free … yadda yadda yadda … munch munch munch … Wellaby’s free-from Simple Bakes are a handy snack to keep in the cupboard. I enjoyed sampling the range and liked the Smoky BBQ flavour best.
