Ceru Soho

Levantine restaurant, Ceru, has brought its delicious dining concept to Soho with flavoursome and fragrant dishes in a pleasant dining space.

I hope you all enjoyed participating in my #WinCeruSoho competition a few weeks back. Congrats again to the winner! I’ve finally made it back to town and managed to get over to Ceru’s new D’Arblay Street restaurant ASAP for my own prized dinner of Eastern Med nosh. I loved every bite.

Best bites included the hammara (tangy red pepper dip with walnuts and pomegranate molasses), which I enjoyed as a Three-in-One (£5.50) serving with houmous and fadi (roasted zucchini, garlic, lemon and tahini). A peach salad with feta, red onion, pistachios, mint, red chilli and citrus dressing (£6) was an absolute treat and ideal summer dish that I’ll order again and again. Lamb shoulder slow roasted for five hours in a blend of 12 shawarma spices with a pomegranate, fresh mint and pistachio sauce (£11) wowed as well.

A bottle of Vranec Special Selection from Tikves Winery (£20) was a tasty and compatible choice – and the first Macedonian wine I’ve ever knowingly drunk.

I was glad to have saved room for dessert and definitely enjoyed ending my meal with Flavours of Baklava (cardamom ice cream with nut brittle and burnt honey caramel, £5.50).

Service was swift, friendly and helpful. I thought prices were reasonable, especially for Soho.

Keep Ceru in mind for sharing plate gatherings, casual din-dins, and whenever any cravings for cuisine from the coastal eastern Mediterranean hit.

Ceru is located at 11 D’Arblay Street, W1F 8DT with a sister site in South Kensington too. Find out more at cerurestaurants.com.
