Cocktails in the City London: Summer Edition | Bedford Square, 3-4 August

P1180056

I had a blast at opening night of Cocktails in the City: Summer Edition at Bedford Square yesterday. Today (Saturday 4 August) is the last day for the Londoners to attend before it heads north for alternate iterations.

The events offers an intoxicatingly convenient opportunity to experience 25 of London’s most innovative cocktail bars all within sipping distance of each other, for the UK’s largest festival of bars in a leafy outdoor setting.

I enjoyed most my Penicillin (made with Laphroaig 10 Year) from Savage Garden; a Highball (made with Suntory Whisky Toki) from Four Degree; and the Mayahuel (Maestro Dobel Humito tequila) from Ella Canta.

In addition to the quality cocktail access, CITC features all sorts of tastings, freebies, giveaways, and such – decent food too (I like the pizza from Lost Boys Pizza). I had a lot of fun – and learned a little too – sitting in on a Tasting Journey hosted by 31Dover.com. And I relished my free sips of Angostura No. 1.

Cocktails in the City is on today (Saturday 4 August 2018) at Bedford Square Gardens, WC1B 3HH.

Entry is £20 and includes a complimentary cocktail. Subsequent cocktails cost £7.50.

Going to miss this Summer Edition of Cocktails in the City? The festival is moving to Manchester in September, Liverpool in October, and Edinburgh in November. Find out more at cocktailsinthecity.com.
