Judith Schrut previews the Choose Laughs Festival Special, an unmissable night of hilarious laughter in honour of a worthy cause.

On 9 December Help Refugees is hosting a world class night of comedy in London, featuring an astonishing line up of top comedians. Choose Laughs Festive Special will see MC Nish Kumar, Simon Amstell, Katherine Ryan, Stewart Lee and other comedy favourites come together to raise the roof with laughter as well as much needed funds to help refugees across Europe survive the coming winter.

Help Refugees is not just another aid organisation but a group of everyday people, taking positive action to help refugees. In three years it’s grown from a social media campaign to a pioneering global movement with more than 80 projects across Europe and the Middle East helping three quarters of a million people. Help Refugees prides itself on having no highly paid executives, instead relying on a network of volunteers, fundraisers and supporters including many high-profile musicians, filmmakers, comedians and actors.

Josie Naughton, Help Refugees’ CEO,  says:

We are absolutely overwhelmed by the support of all the brilliant comedians coming together to help raise funds for refugees this winter. Freezing temperatures are just around the corner and people need warm clothes, blankets and nutritious food to stay healthy and safe. This night is all about laughter and love, bringing people together to have a great time while doing something practical to help.
