Zia Lucia – Boxpark Wembley, Pizzeria and Burrata Bar

Two locations are not enough for ambitious independent pizzeria, Zia Lucia. Now west Londoners can get a slice of the action with a third location now serving Neapolitan style pizzas from a wood-fired oven at Boxpark Wembley.

I dropped by the recently launched Zia Lucia at the new Boxpark a few days before Christmas. I really enjoyed my meal and thought the pizzas were as tasty and “genuine’ as when I reviewed the original Zia Lucia in 2016.

Exclusive to the Wembley outlet is a burrata bar, where diners can choose can make their own burrata bowls with ingredients like smoked salmon and avocado, spicy Spianata salami, or roasted peppers to top their Puglia-sourced burrata. Prices start £5. An order of burrata with roasted peppers (£6.90) was a flavoursome way to warm up for my pizza as a main course.

A Margherita with speck on half (£7.50 + £2.50 for speck as an extra topping) was a treat served hot a fast. My pie was baked on a traditional dough base, though I was tempted to go with one of Zia Lucia’s other options, including vegetable charcoal, wholewheat and gluten-free.

A couple of slices of “pizza dessert” with Nutella, fresh fruit and a drizzle of honey (£4.50) provided a sweet ending to a quality, nicely priced meal.

Service was fast and friendly. The pizzeria is among a variety of fast takeaway options inside Boxpark, which essentially is a giant food court. Seating is communal.

Zia Lucia is located at Boxpark Wembley, Olympic Way, HA9 0NU with locations on Holloway Road and in Brook Green as well. Find out more at zialucia.com.

Ohhhhhh, that looks awesome! I often say I’m not a pizza fan, but in truth I’m not a fan of mass market pizzas from high street chains and takeaways, which to me often taste of “herb essence”, over metallic tinned tomatoes and cardboard. That one looks gorgeous though.

Hey! Thanks for commenting. Zia Lucia’s super tasty authentic Neapolitan style pizza is nothing like the “mass market” pizzas you describe.

I published that list before making it to Zia Lucia – Boxpark Wembley. So it was too late to make the cut, but it’s already on the tentative list for 2019.

      Have fun,
