Flexing Vegan | Halo Burger

Flexing Vegan | Halo Burger

It was a visit to Halo Burger near the end of last year that was one of the chief reasons I decided to start my Flexing Vegan miniseries. So when invited to head back to Brixton for a bite of Halo’s limited run summer special, the Smoky Carolina BBQ Burger – I was keen.

Made with a Beyond Meat plant-based patty and topped with tangy BBQ sauce, smoked Gouda style cheese, crispy onion strips and mayo, the Smoky Carolina was a treat!

Chowing down on it recently reaffirmed my belief that Halo is onto something big. As the only restaurant in the world specialising in Beyond Meat’s 100% plant-based patties, Halo’s burgers have consistently impressed this meat eater for their juicy texture and fulsome flavour.

At just over £10.50, the Smoky Carolina is a reasonably priced example of what Halo seems to be getting right.

Aside from a short list of yummy vegan burgers, Halo does fries (awesome fries by the way) and that’s about it. And that’s about perfect for when the mood for a burger strikes – no matter how meaty you need it.

Halo Burger is located on the ground level of Pop Brixton, 49 Brixton Station Road, SW9 8PQ. Find out more at haloburger.co.uk.

I’ll be back soon with my next Flexing Vegan review.
