I’ve teamed up with South Africa’s most awarded wine brand, Nederburg Wines, to highlight the amazing work Nederburg does helping provide bicycles to people with limited access to transportation across Africa and to run a special giveaway competition offering the chance for one reader of this blog to win a mixed case of six bottles of wine and to highlight the amazing work Nederburg does providing bicycles to people with limited access to transportation across Africa.

Keep reading to learn about Nederburg’s #DoYourPart campaign and to find out how you could win a case of free wine.

Do Your Part

The #DoYourPart campaign was launched in the autumn of 2017 by South African natives: Nederburg Wines and non-profit Qhubeka. The campaign raises funds to assist in mobilising rural communities across Africa, providing bicycles to those with limited access to transport and resources. With bicycles, people are able to travel farther and faster, carry more with them and receive better access to education, healthcare and economic opportunities.

As part of the #DoYourPart campaign, Nederburg donates 5p from every purchase of its select 1791 range and 56 Hundred range wines to the Qhubeka charity.

The 1791 range is available in Sainsbury’s, with prices starting from £4.85. The 56 Hundred range is available nationwide in Tesco and Asda stores, with prices starting from £5.75. Both wines are available now.

With Qhubeka’s support, Nederburg established its first bicycle assembly facility in South Africa, which now produces a minimum of 5,000 purpose-built bicycles a year and introduces jobs to the local area.

Other initiatives include fundraising cycle packs, which aim to inspire companies to introduce cycling teams or host wine pairing dinners, with all funds raised dedicated to improving the lives of Africa’s rural population.
