Happy Halloween?

These days! Sheesh!

Come this time of year, I usually am looking for spooky stuff to do and maybe even recommend some Halloween related activities to this blog’s readers. This year though, life seems frightful enough.

From being able to buy cheap caskets online to not being able even to go to the cinemas to watch a horror movie or have friends over for a small get together, the ledger for Halloween 2020 is far too heavily weighted on the “trick” side of the annual trick or treat equation. So Halloween’s a total write off this year. Skipping ahead, I reckon I’m gonna have to scrap my Thanksgiving plans as well. Here’s hoping some semblance of Christmas cheer remains salvageable.

I guess there’s still a chance to binge on scary movies and creepy television series online at home. Antrum, a film I reviewed recently, stands out as a new release worth checking out. For viewing with a more lightheartedly ghastly theme, the BBC series Ghosts, is a fun show to watch.

Other than that? I welcome suggestions! How about hosting a fancy dress/Halloween costume party on Zoom or organising socially distanced trick or treating for kids?

As for T-Day and Christmas, I’m trying to think up ways to spend time helping charities or other commendable causes in ways that are Covid-safe and still actually meaningful. I hope to have some clear ideas soon – and will aim to keep you posted on what I come up with!

Stay safe!
