The Pinkertons: New Period Crime Drama Set in America’s Wild West
A new UKTV period crime drama called The Pinkertons, based on the story of a real life crime fighting agency of the same name, is scheduled to premiere Sunday 30 August at 8pm. I had the pleasure of catching a sneak preview of the show’s first episode and I reckon it has what it takes to captivate an audience keen for rootin’ tootin’ shoot ‘em up crime-fighting action tempered with historical accuracy, laced with strong plot lines, and loaded with mystery. Continue reading
Supreme Tweeter: A New Web Series That Has Us All Atwitter
In a satirically self-effacing look at the strange (and sometimes unsavoury) connectivity of Twitterverse, Harry Lloyd and Jayne Hong‘s new production, Supreme Tweeter, has hit the world wide web at a sprint. Boiling the internet down to its bones in twenty minutes of brisk and effortless humour, they’ve created an inside look at what celebrity means in the 21st century, crafting a tale both caustic and charming. I sat down with Jayne and Harry the night of Supreme Tweeter’s April 1st release to hear about their creative process, and the film’s eccentric milieu of London daily life, North Korean diplomacy, and Photoshop. Continue reading

London Daily Photo: Lunch with Siba
Lunch today came compliments of South African chef Siba Mtongaga who was in town today to promote her new Food Network UK series, Siba’s Table. Look for the show to premiere on the Food Network UK 23 September and to be aired weekdays at 12.30pm and 6.30pm. Brought to you by the team who created Nigella’s Kitchen and Barefoot Contessa, Siba’s Table is filmed in Cape Town, where the chef creates and serves a range of dishes for her friends and family. I can vouch that much of her food is delish. She makes a mean chakalaka and was a gracious during my meal. Continue reading
