Live in Italian, Live from London Pop-Up at Potters Fields Park
Hosted sparkling water super brand S.Pellegrino in partnership with two Michelin starred chefs, Theo Randall of The Intercontinental and Phil Howard of The Square, the pop-up sees the chefs cooking “each evening with an exclusively created three-course-menu, perfectly paired with fine Italian wines,” while also providing live demonstrations of each course “within an intimate candlelit setting and guests will be encouraged to ask their burning cooking questions.” During the day there’s a lunchtime service with dishes created by Chris Denney, Head Chef at the popular Covent Garden restaurant, Four to Eight. Tasty Tales from the Italian Ham Highway: a-MuSe-ing and Bubbly Trento
After an all too short sojourn in Friuli (God, I hope I make it back there before too long), I hit the autostrada heading west to the region of Trentino for an overnight stay to see what sort of wonders its scenic city of Trento had to offer. With a newly opened museum designed by a star architect; a distinctive sparkling wine with a rich tradition behind it; and an exquisite regional gastronomy that’s big on flavour, locally sourced ingredients and seasonality – the answer I soon discovered was A LOT! Peruvian chef Virgilio Martinez’s much lauded London outpost, Lima, has just received its first Michelin star – and the first one ever granted to a Latin restaurant in Europe.
