For a Crash Course in Wow, Visit Rome’s Galleria Borghese (OneTravel)

The gallery is home to one of the largest – and arguably most valuable – private collections of art in the world. Consisting of paintings, sculpture and antiquities, the Borghese collection began with acquisitions by Cardinal Scipione Borghese, an avid art aficionado and a bit of a dandy, while his uncle Pope Paul V was head of the Vatican (1605 to 1621). It includes important works (and lots of them) by Caravaggio, Bernini, Botticelli, Titian and plenty more. Continue reading →
