Crowd Surf Ready Fitness Class with Stubhub and Gymbox

I’d like to say I was ready for the Crowd Surf Ready Fitness Class at Gymbox in partnership wit Stubhub. But I was not. It kicked my ass. But in a good way – and I was glad to have signed up for a session.

StubHub and Gymbox have teamed up to offer the “ultimate festival fitness class” for summer. Using Gymbox’s fitness experts and unique outlook on gym routines, the class class focuses on maximising your energy and toning the muscles needed surf a crowd and support others doing so during a concert.

I tagged along to a media preview of the class. The time went quickly, and the music was pumping. Our instructor was a bit drill sergeant-y but cooler than most I’ve experienced, pushing the class to achieve and a level that seemed to suit. Still, 45 minutes later I was aching something fierce and all but had to crawl back to the locker room. Thing is though soon after I was showered and back on the street I was feeling like a champ and rejuvenated for the rest of the day (if still a little sore). I think I do a pretty decent job making it to my own local fitness centre fairly regularly, but it’s good to know I can (and probably should) step up my game.

Crowd Surf Ready was my first experience at a Gymbox. I liked it. Spacious if Spartan and certainly not frilly, it seemed like a good place for a great workout.

Open to all abilities, Crowd Surf Ready takes place at the Farringdon Gymbox, starting Thursday 14 July and lasting for a total of six weeks. Classes are free for members and £10 per class for members (subject to availability).

Farringdon Gymbox is located at 20 Farringdon Road, EC1M 3AP (with various other Gymbox outlets across London). Find out more at gymbox.com. For more about Stubhub, go to stubhub.co.uk.
