Good stuff and lots of it!  This latest list of good stuff comes from Judith Schrut,  who’s been visiting London’s 2018 Natural and Organic Products Show. Enjoy.

Boy, did I have fun at the fair– I’m talking about the annual Natural and Organic Products Show, which I had a great time visiting this week. It’s Europe’s biggest trade show for natural and organic food, drink, health and beauty products and brings together hundreds of traders and thousands of natural innovations from around the world to Excel London. I got to taste and test a ton of good stuff and am eager to share some favourites with you.

Happiness in a Tub

Luscious  is a perfectly named and utterly irresistible organic ice cream made in Wiltshire from the rich milk and cream of Jersey cows. As a self-annointed connoisseur of creamy frozen desserts,  I can tell you this stuff definitely makes the grade.Currently in 6 flavours, including Madagascan vanilla, rich chocolate and strawberry & Jersey cream.

Big on Bars

So many bars, so little time! Natural snack bars have become hugely popular and were mightily present at this show, with more varieties than you can crumple a compostable wrapper at. I loved Raw Bite bars from Denmark, that’s all 8 organic fruit and nut flavours I tasted including cacao, cashew, spicy lime and vanilla berry. Each bar is clothed in a colourful wrapper, with love, crunch and hygge in every bite. Guaranteed 100% økologisk!  And, may I ask, are you gaga for goji or cheering for chia? If so, Perk!er has created 6 types of quinoa superfood bar for your daily energy boost. In a tight competition, my favourite was goji and cranberry, a colourful crunch of seeds, grains and nuts.

Clearspring Organics

For over 25 years family-owned Clearspring Organics has been busily fulfilling its mission to protect the world, promote good health and spread the gospel about traditional Japanese and organic foods, well before this was trendy big business. Alongside their excellent rice vinegar, tamari soy and miso soup, which have been personal favourites for many years, Clearspring continually begets new goodies like Seaveg Crispies, Brown Rice Chips and a range of tasty organic pasta sauces.

The World’s Healthiest Bread

I’m slowly munching my way through sample loaves of Heart of Nature Original Pure Grain Bread and Pure Grain Bread with Cranberries. Apart from its claims to be the “healthiest bread in the world,” packed with fibre, nutrient rich seeds, supergrains and Himalayan salt,  this bread is ridiculously tasty.

Sublime Enzyme

Pure Beauty Global Finalist OMS– short for OhMySkin– was one of dozens of natural beauty businesses at the show. It’s developed by owner-botanist Danielle Davies after she endured a disappointing and expensive salon facial. OMS welcomes customers to ‘a new age of exfoliates,’ offering ‘eco kindness’ for skin and products free from harsh acids, abrasives and microbeads, made with cacti and wheat grass enzymes instead.  Its Sublime Enzyme Professional Therapy Kit promises easy, gentle self-treatment you can do at home with professional results. I’ll be trying my sample soon to see for myself but it certainly smells very nice.

Yep to Yope

Polish company Yope offers everything your heart could possibly desire by way of environmentally-friendly home and beauty products. Its attractively packaged range has a natural product for every surface and orifice, from bathroom, floor and window cleaners to hand lotion, scented candles and soaps for kids. All are made with natural ingredients and fragrances like green tea, ginger-sandalwood, clove, bamboo and French lavender. After one whiff of their extraordinary bergamot, verbena and basil washing up liquid, I’m convinced dishwashing will never be the same again.
