Neptune Rum is the world’s most awarded rum of 2018 with more than 40 prestigious global awards to date. I’ve got a bottle of the golden rum from Barbados to share with one lucky tikichris reader.
Produced at Foursquare Distillery – one of the world’s most esteemed distilleries and the oldest on the island of Barbados – this Bajan rum is distilled in smooth pots and column stills from pure sugar cane molasses before being aged in ex-Bourbon casks for up to eight years. After that, the spirit goes through a cold filtration process and diluted with soft spring water to its bottling strength of 40% ABV for a smooth and complex drink with a peppery banana nose, notes of vanilla, spice and sherry on the palate and a brown sugar finish.
Neptune’s filtration and dilution steps are unique but result in a quality rum. Neptune has racked up loads of awards and accolades, including Britain’s Best Rum Brand (Golden Barrel Awards), Barbados Rum of the Year (New York International Spirits Competition), and Gold Best Value (China Wine & Spirits Awards).
