Spanish Olives Recipes from Jose Pizarro

P1190370

London’s favourite Spanish chef, Jose Pizzaro, has teamed up with Olives from Spain to create a a series of traditional Spanish recipes.

Recipes range from super easy to fairly advanced with most using affordable ingredients that can be found easily in London. Of course, they all feature Spanish olives as a key component.

The list includes the following gorgeous dishes:

  • Hake with tomato and olive salad;
  • Chorizo, olive and Judion bean stew;
  • Chicken and olive rice;
  • Olive and salt cod tortilla;
  • Lamb meatballs with chilli and olives;
  • Manchego swirls with red pepper tapenade;
  • Stuff peppers with cheese, artichokes, and olives;
  • Bocata with tuna belly, manzanilla olives, anchovies and egg; and
  • Chocolate rocas with black olives.

I had the delicious pleasure of attending a launch of the recipes at the chef’s eponymous Bermondsey Street restaurant. Everything was gorgeous. Hard pressed, I’d probably say the hake dish and the stew were my faves – but I wouldn’t turn up my nose at a chance to enjoy any of Jose’s creations. Indeed, I hope to have a go at his recipes in my own kitchen soon.

Pizarro is located at 194 Bermondsey Street, SE1 3TQ. Chef Pizarro also has a sister tapas bar just up the street, another restaurant at Broadgate Circle and the newly launched Swan Inn in Esther, Surrey. Find out more at josepizarro.com.
