Starting to Envision the Rest of the Year | 2023 Resolution

It’s been about a month since I checked in with this series, a mostly fun and fairly active few weeks with plenty of blogging. As I said in my last 2023 Resolution post, ‘I’ve got my mojo back.’

I think that still holds true.

I’m managing more than a post a month with content for this series and publishing a variety of posts about different things that interest me. Inspiration abounds and the list of (what I believe are) good ideas about things to write grows. I reckon I can call this success.

I’ve mentioned key takeaways from my resolution process previously in this series. Regarding how I’ve been able to maintain commitment to my resolution, here are a few more:

  • Establish a foundation by setting a goal;
  • Embrace imperfections and accept that some failure along the way is inevitable when aiming to achieve something important;
  • Be open to unexpected inspiration and adapt accordingly if the inspiration aligns with, or enhances, your original goal;
  • Embrace the unknown;
  • Stay positive;
  • Persist;
  • Reflect regularly;
  • Stay focused; and
  • Create space for what matters to help you maintain the appropriate level of commitment to your goal.

The above points are based on what I’ve written in this series and noticed about how I’ve gone about sticking to my resolution. What might be smart to consider going forward is to think about the next six months of 2023, to reflect on the above points and other takeaways from this series and start envisioning how I would like the rest of the year to play out.
