London Daily Photo: Lunch with Siba
Lunch today came compliments of South African chef Siba Mtongaga who was in town today to promote her new Food Network UK series, Siba’s Table. Look for the show to premiere on the Food Network UK 23 September and to be aired weekdays at 12.30pm and 6.30pm. Brought to you by the team who created Nigella’s Kitchen and Barefoot Contessa, Siba’s Table is filmed in Cape Town, where the chef creates and serves a range of dishes for her friends and family. I can vouch that much of her food is delish. She makes a mean chakalaka and was a gracious during my meal. Continue reading

Petalon is a new flower delivery company here in London making it easier, more accessible and greener to send flowers in the capital. Two different bouquets are offered every week and chosen depending on what’s in season and looks particularly fantastic at the market. Petalon flowers are always delivered by bicycle and always cost £20 with £2 of every bunch donated to Capital Bee, a London not-for-profit campaigning for bee-friendly practices. Continue reading

An immersive piece of theatre set in an actually lived-in Georgian townhouse, the play served as an excellent opportunity to enjoy a piece of great literature brought to life while getting to snoop around a bit in someone else’s home. If you’re planning to visit London before the end of September, this adaptation could prove a quirky and cultured item to your itinerary. Continue reading

Not only the capital of a prominent Western European nation, Paris is very much the center of the entire French speaking world. With such a distinction comes a lot of yummy treats from all corners of the planet. Not the least of which are the East Asian contributions to the Parisian dining scene. Continue reading
A Midsummer’s Night Dream with David Walliams and Sheridan Smith
Magic, intrigue and an exceptionally twisty plot are the hallmarks of this romantic comedy that’s as relevant and timely today as when it was first performed during the Elizabethan era. As the Bard writes, “the course of true love never did run smooth.” Of course, that’s what makes the subject such a compelling theme for theatre. Continue reading

NFL in the UK (CheapOair)
Every year since 2007, a regular season game of good ole NFL American football has been played at Wembley Stadium in London. Plans for the 2013 season keep with this well established trend but actually up the ante with not just one but two NFL International Series games slated to be played at the 90,000 capacity Wembley Stadium, the world’s largest stadium with all seats under cover. A Visit to Jude’s Ice Cream Dairy (Great British Chefs)
Yes, there is a Jude (Judith actually) behind the scenes of this Hampshire-based premium ice cream maker. But the story of her eponymous treats is really about her husband, Theo. Finding himself suddenly and unexpectedly on the other side of a career in banking, Theo had time on his hands along with a bit of capital and a garage in which to tinker. He also had the acumen to realise a huge gap in the British ice cream market and the pluck to go about filling it. Continue reading
