Coming Soon: The Clockjack Chicken Burger

Sometime this week, Soho’s Clockjack Oven will launch the Clockjack Chicken Burger – a fried chicken thigh burger with a bit of a kick to it. Lucky clucker that I am, I had a chance to sample a prototype of the new burger last week. It was truly delicious and I reckon will prove to be a very popular addition to an already tasty menu. Fine Dining at Quantus in Chiswick, West London (OneTravel)

Another great restaurant to add to my growing list of London’s best is Quantus. Offering an exquisite menu of modern European cuisine with a strong Latin influence and a wine list that’s inspired and rather Latin tinged as well, this local west London fine dining establishment is a great option for foodies foraging around West London in search of excellence. Service at this lovely little Chiswick local is formal and prompt yet exceptionally friendly, and the prices are a huge relief. Continue reading

London Daily Photo: Sud de France on Thames

I had a great time checking out the Sud de France festival at Bernie Spain Gardens (on the South Bank next to the OXO Tower) earlier today. It’s free to attend with festivities running until this evening with DJ Gilles Peterson taking the stage around 7pm. Continue reading

Jack the Tripper by @judeswalko

Jack Grimsby was an ordinary man. So ordinary, in fact, that in and of itself there is nothing out of the ordinary to say about his life, ever… until now that it is. Continue reading

Tilia: Online Home Delivery Service of Artisan Food and Drink. Try it and Love it!

Tilia is a new online home delivery service connecting Londoners with local suppliers of artisan food and drink. At the moment, it’s a London only thing, but there are plans for rapid nationwide expansion. I recently gave Tilia a twirl. Completely impressed, I loved everything aspect of my experience. Indeed, I’m keen to try the service again (and again!) and can wholeheartedly recommend it as an incredibly convenient way to get top quality grub to your table. Continue reading

London Daily Photo: Lunch with Siba

Lunch today came compliments of South African chef Siba Mtongaga who was in town today to promote her new Food Network UK series, Siba’s Table. Look for the show to premiere on the Food Network UK 23 September and to be aired weekdays at 12.30pm and 6.30pm. Brought to you by the team who created Nigella’s Kitchen and Barefoot Contessa, Siba’s Table is filmed in Cape Town, where the chef creates and serves a range of dishes for her friends and family. I can vouch that much of her food is delish. She makes a mean chakalaka and was a gracious during my meal. Continue reading

The Picture of Dorian Gray at “Dorian Gray’s Townhouse” in London (OneTravel)

Recently, I caught a performance of the Oscar Wilde classic The Picture of Dorian Gray. An immersive piece of theatre set in an actually lived-in Georgian townhouse, the play served as an excellent opportunity to enjoy a piece of great literature brought to life while getting to snoop around a bit in someone else’s home. If you’re planning to visit London before the end of September, this adaptation could prove a quirky and cultured item to your itinerary. Continue reading

A Midsummer’s Night Dream with David Walliams and Sheridan Smith

Magic, intrigue and an exceptionally twisty plot are the hallmarks of this romantic comedy that’s as relevant and timely today as when it was first performed during the Elizabethan era. As the Bard writes, “the course of true love never did run smooth.” Of course, that’s what makes the subject such a compelling theme for theatre. Continue reading

NFL in the UK (CheapOair)

Every year since 2007, a regular season game of good ole NFL American football has been played at Wembley Stadium in London. Plans for the 2013 season keep with this well established trend but actually up the ante with not just one but two NFL International Series games slated to be played at the 90,000 capacity Wembley Stadium, the world’s largest stadium with all seats under cover.
