Good Stuff #87

Wingback Card Wallet

Good stuff and lots of it!

Here’s the low down on some fine things to see, sip, savour and more – all of which I’ve recently come across and thought were worth sharing with you. Enjoy.

Wingback Card Wallet

London-based leather goods designer, Wingback, makes practical, beautiful and durable wallets and cardholders crafted by hand for a lifetime of use. I’ve got Wingback’scard wallet, which I use for my daily travel needs (it holds my Oyster Card, train tickets, stuff like that). After weeks of use going in and out of my back pocket and tapping for public transport journeys all across this great town, it still has a gorgeous leathery smell and looks as good when I received it.

Customised to my specifications (charcoal leather with red thread) and personalised with two laser etched inscriptions (my initials on the front and one of my favourite sayings just inside top compartment), it’s handy and attractive – and kinda makes me happy everything I pull it out of my pocket. Wingback leather goods would make brilliant gifts for a range of occasions; I certainly wouldn’t turn down one of their wallets!

White Cedar Organic Full-Spectrum Hemp Extract Oil

White Cedar is a family owned business producing organic hemp extract in small batches from the company’s own Kentucky farm. I’ve been enjoying drops from a 100mg bottle of its “Cinnamint” flavoured CBD oil off and on for the past few weeks and have noticed the benefits from its effects (clearer head, deeper sleep, less crankiness). Apparently it’s good for reducing inflammation and for pain relief as well. I got mine on Amazon via Pepperwood Organics (priced at £17.99). Just in case there’s still any confusion out there: no, CBD oil doesn’t get you high no matter how much you take. There’s no THC (the stuff that gets you high) in it. So, it’s as mild as, say, camomile tea but with loads more purported health benefits.

Boost Oxygen

Used by an increasing number of professional athletes and entertainers, supplemental oxygen is said to aid in peak physical performance and recovery and to improve cognition and concentration. It comes in handy in high altitude and poor air quality situations as well. Lightweight and compact Boost Oxygen compressed oxygen canisters offer an easy solution to the negative effects of low oxygen levels such as low energy, a lack of concentration and exhaustion. I’ve been trying out a sample 9 litre canister of 95% pure oxygen offered to me by Boost Oxygen. I’m not sure if there’s a placebo effect going on, but taking a quick inhale does seem to help with my concentration and energy level. The canister has a nifty mask for efficient delivery and is good for up to 200 inhalations. Recommended retail price is £19.99.

Ellactiva Collagen& Immunity Blackcurrant Burst Chews

Ellactiva’s series of “Collagen&” chews (yeah, it’s collagen candy) for energy, healthy bones or immunity offer an easy way to consume readily absorbable collagen. The Collogen& for boosting the immune system comes in a very Ribena-y blackcurrant flavour and is a good source for inulin fibre, zinc, selenium and Vitamin C – and they’re pretty tasty too. A box of 60 soft chews costs £29.99 at the Ellactiva online shop.
