An Interview with Chef Albert Roux (Great British Chefs)
… the affable 78 year old seems as pleased or perhaps even more so to talk about the recent successes of his son as he is his own achievements. My interview with Albert felt more like a friendly conversation as he shared memories from the early days of his career along with advice for up-and-comers in the restaurant industry today. Continue reading
Karate Cap with Misha B and Dynamo
Check out how Mancunian rap sensation Misha B’s reacts when magician Dynamo plays a fantastic trick on her at this summer’s Yahoo! Wireless Festival. Can you spot how he did it? Me neither. Maybe I should give it another viewing … but I’ve already watched the clip about a half dozen times. Argh. Man, that guy’s good. Continue reading

London Daily Photo: Lunch with Siba
Lunch today came compliments of South African chef Siba Mtongaga who was in town today to promote her new Food Network UK series, Siba’s Table. Look for the show to premiere on the Food Network UK 23 September and to be aired weekdays at 12.30pm and 6.30pm. Brought to you by the team who created Nigella’s Kitchen and Barefoot Contessa, Siba’s Table is filmed in Cape Town, where the chef creates and serves a range of dishes for her friends and family. I can vouch that much of her food is delish. She makes a mean chakalaka and was a gracious during my meal. Continue reading
A Midsummer’s Night Dream with David Walliams and Sheridan Smith
Magic, intrigue and an exceptionally twisty plot are the hallmarks of this romantic comedy that’s as relevant and timely today as when it was first performed during the Elizabethan era. As the Bard writes, “the course of true love never did run smooth.” Of course, that’s what makes the subject such a compelling theme for theatre. Continue reading

No Sir Elton But Still Good Fun at BST Last Night
To say I wasn’t disappointed when I heard that Elton John wasn’t going to perform as scheduled at last night’s BST at Hyde Park would be a lie. Nevertheless, I had a lot of fun at the festival and was impressed with the organizers went about handling the new when the superstar announced he wouldn’t be able to play. Continue reading
