Sneak Peek at Chocolat Luxe – New Chocolate Whiskey Liqueur
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of being among the very first members of the public to taste a new chocolate and whiskey liqueur called Chocolat Luxe. There’s an embargo on for a few weeks preventing me from saying which brand is behind this new velvety drink. But I can tell you this: Chocolat Luxe is the world’s first fusion of Belgian chocolate, Irish whiskey and cream. It’s the result of three years of development and combines cream, Madagascan vanilla, tripled distilled whiskey and more than 30g of real Belgian chocolate in each bottle. Continue reading

Sunday Lunch: Paradise by Way of Kensal Green
I don’t want to give away too much about the fantastic dining room of Paradise by Way of Kensal Green. If you’ve never been, it’s worth a bit of uncertainly for the wonderful surprise of seeing the interiors for the first time. And, of course, if you have been then you know what I’m talking about. Nice place for a drink, eh? But have you tried the Sunday lunch? It’s full-on (and filling!) and as lovely as you might expect to enjoy in such a pleasant setting. Continue reading

Carpo: Great Greek Snacks at Piccadilly Circus
Carpo, an emporium and cafe offering a simple selection of “nuts, chocolate and coffee” (there’s dried fruit and a few other products as well) has recently opened near Piccadilly Circus. So what? So … fantastically flavoursome pistachios, delectable honey with a hint of thyme, exquisitely juicy candied mandarins, figs covered in chocolate that are worth dropping whatever you’re doing at this very moment to rush over for a taste of and a whole lot more – that’s what. Easter 2013 at Hotel Chocolat
I swung by Roast + Conch last night for the press launch of Hotel Chocolat’s collection of chocolates for Easter 2013. This year’s yield is an especially delicious assortment that’s attractively presented with a bit a quirk. Hand tied ribbon hat boxes, a dapper Beau Bunny illustration by Neal Murren adorning most packaging, prettily coloured pralines and bonbons all help to ensure delight whether the chocolates are a treat for yourself or a gift for someone special. In Search of London’s Best Tiramisu (CheapOair)
