Thomasina Meirs (fresh back to work from several months’ maternity leave) and the folksbehind popular London restaurant group, Wahaca, have announced plans to open Burrito Mama – a new takeaway restaurant at One New Change (along with an actual Wahaca outlet in the same shopping complex) – at the end of October.
For a taste of what’s to come, head over to Street Feast in Dalston today where Tommi and crew will be slinging beans and stuffin’ ’em in toasted tortillas at a pop-up market stall (don’t worry – there’s covered seating if it rains). I dropped by last night for a pork pibil “Mexicana Mama” (sin rice but abundantly filled with pork and crunchy slaw). Yum. Continue reading

Petalon is a new flower delivery company here in London making it easier, more accessible and greener to send flowers in the capital. Two different bouquets are offered every week and chosen depending on what’s in season and looks particularly fantastic at the market. Petalon flowers are always delivered by bicycle and always cost £20 with £2 of every bunch donated to Capital Bee, a London not-for-profit campaigning for bee-friendly practices. Continue reading
