Miami Club Rum: Miami’s First Rum Distillery (OneTravel)

Miami Club Rum, a premium rum made and produced in Miami has just launched early this year and is already the toast of the town, gaining fans and garnering awards by the shot. The Miami Club business might be new but founder Matt Malone went on five generations of his family’s involvement producing rum in Puerto Rico, going back in time to 1911. Adhering to tradition seems to be going well for Malone. His white rum recently won a gold medal for “Best Platinum Rum in the World” at the recently held 2013 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Continue reading

New Dallas Museum of Art Exhibition Honors JFK (OneTravel)

Commemorating the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, the Dallas Museum of Art brings together the works of art installed in the president’s suite at the Hotel Texas during his fateful trip in 1963. The original installation, orchestrated by a small group of Fort Worth art collectors, was created especially for the president and first lady to celebrate their overnight visit to the city and included paintings by Vincent van Gogh, Thomas Eakins, Lyonel Feininger, Franz Kline, and Marsden Hartley as well as sculptures by Pablo Picasso and Henry Moore and more. Coming to London next month is RAW, a “totally independent” wine fair created and organized by “Crazy FrenchWoman” and the first French female Master of Wine, Isabelle Legeron. Opening in early March, Art13 London will be the largest new art fair to launch in London in a decade. As you might expect, Helfrect couldn’t cram every page – or even many characters – onto the stage for her adaptation. Still, Fiesta stays true to the spirit of Hemingway’s first novel. In particular, the language is economic and punchy, resulting in a compelling and enjoyable play that shouldn’t leave many ardent Hemingway fans hankering for more. For a Crash Course in Wow, Visit Rome’s Galleria Borghese (OneTravel)
