Celebrating Edward VII’s Birthday with The King’s Ginger and Berry Bros
The level of kitsch and pretence was nearly as copious as the amount of booze in the cocktails during a recent posthumous birthday lunch for King Edward VII, with The King himself on hand to preside over the merriment. Of course as is so often the case with too many wonderful experiences, there had to be a hitch. Continue reading

World Heritage Dining in the South of France (Blue Tomato)
Romping round the South of France touring UNESCO World Heritage sites can sure work up an appetite. Here are but a few of the tastier highlights from my recent jaunt round La Región – all well within easy and scenic drives of Montpellier–Méditerranée Airport or Nîmes-Alès-Camargue-Cévennes Airport. An Interview with Chef Albert Roux (Great British Chefs)

“Free From” But Still Flavourful Food by Orgran
I recently got hold of a range of “free from” products by Orgran. The three products I sampled – Buckwheat Pancake Mix, Buckwheat Pasta Spirals and Spaghetti in Tomato Sauce – were gluten free, wheat free, dairy free, egg free, yeast free, soy free and vegan … and still right flavourful too. Nice thing is, all those missing ingredients hadn’t been replaced with a lot of unpronounceable crap created in a lab. Instead the products provided me with a few back-to-basics meals that left me satiated without feeling bogged down. Continue reading
